Hi Steve!

Very good excercise! Do you have more? Or can you make up more? I have some problems using the rule of thirds. My SLR does not have the lines that would serve as a guideline. It does have some marks and autofocus points, but that just confuses me when I'm trying to compose my photo. For example if I'm photographing a landscape, and I'd like to use a tree in the foreground and I'd like to put this tree on the line separating the first and second third. I guess I just have to get used to it, but it would be nice if I could train my eye somehow. Some photos of my viewfinder can be found on my website: http://foto.debreczi.hu/ where you can see the markings. I also put the 2+2 separator lines on the picture of the viewfinder to picture the problem. The text is in Hungarian, don't worry about it, only the pictures are important.

Thank you for your help,
Janos Debreczi
